KMG
The heart of KMG beats in Neede, where it all began with the dream of Mr. Kroon, a former fairground operator, who decided to create his own attractions. KMG quickly grew into a family business that would set the standard for innovation and quality in the industry. Today, with a team of 27 dedicated professionals, KMG builds approximately ten attractions annually that are distributed around the world, from the Netherlands to America.
Dizzy water bags
In conversation with Bas Derkink, engineering and support associate at KMG, the passion for the job can be felt. Bas started at KMG as an intern in 1999, graduated and never left. During his graduation, Bas designed the Tango, a popular attraction at KMG. He now focuses primarily on the control and documentation side of the process, but no new attraction goes out the door without Bas spending at least an hour quietly spinning water bags the weight of a human being.
Efficiency and mobility: the hallmark of KMG attractions
With more than 30 designs in their portfolio, the absolute best of which have been sold 68 times, their reputation for quality and innovation is unmatched.
One of the unique features of KMG attractions is their efficient design. Think of attractions that can be assembled and disassembled within 1.5 hours, whereas with other builders it sometimes takes up to 1.5 days. Moreover, KMG understands that mobility is essential for fairground operators, which is why all of their attractions are compact enough to be transported on one trailer.
Happy with TELE!
TELE besturingstechniek takes care of hardware engineering and panel construction for KMG.
Naturally, we also asked Bas if he is satisfied with the cooperation we have and what areas for improvement he sees.
“For KMG, TELE Besturingstechniek is not just another supplier, but a true partner in the pursuit of perfection. We experience the cooperation as pleasant and productive. KMG is a stubborn company, we have our own views on how things should work. The advantage of TELE is that you always think along with us.
The control boxes in our rides are not always (or rather always not) straight and there is often very limited space available. Even if it doesn't seem to fit, you come up with a solution, you really get the most out of it. That's just really nice for us. It is not for nothing that TELE control technology is our only supplier when it comes to control technology. We are simply very satisfied with the quality delivered, with the innovations you are working on, but certainly also with the communication with Sjoerd Bouhuis (project engineer). The lines are short, you are proactive and ensure that we can move forward together.”
We thank Bas for his honesty, openness and enthusiasm and hope to take on many more great projects together in the future (the next one is already in the planning). And of course we would love to share more stories about our collaborations with clients. Who may we challenge?
